Three Eumenides

Description

In 1967 and 1968, the Guthrie Theater staged "The House of Atreus," based on plays called "The Oresteia" by ancient Greek playwright, Aeschylus. The costume design shown here was prepared for three Furies, or "Eumenides," who appear in the play. Internationally renowned costume and stage designer Tanya Moiseiwitsch worked at the Guthrie for the first seven years of its existence.
