When We Imagine

When Minnesota imagines, it does so with extraordinary light, sound, and texture found nowhere else in America. The boundless talent and diversity of Minnesota's artists and performing arts is recognized nationwied. We are home to some of the nation's top theatres, music groups, dance companies, performers and artists. Internationally significant costume designers including Desmond Heeley and Tanya Moiseiwitsch created materspieces of imagination at the Guthrie Theater while the Minnesota Orchestra attracted many leading performers and entertainers as guest artists. The rich tapestry of our racial and ethnic heritage is reflected in numerous outstanding artists, such as Lou Bellamy, and in Jewish and Ukranian music and dance ensembles whose creativity and quality are simply brilliant. Hightly talented artsits, including Hazel Stoekler, Wanda Gag, and Barbara Knutson have enriched and enlivened the world with their art.
