Description

These notes were sent to Charles Christensen, NBC Director, from NBC producer Louis Hazam on May 17, 1954. The notes document planning for the production of a film that featured the controlled cross circulation method for open heart surgery. The film was produced by NBC for the American Medical Association as part of "The March of Medicine" series. It was broadcast on national television on June 24, 1954. The film included scenes of an actual operation that were filmed in April of 1954. It also included interviews with Drs. C. Walton Lillehei, Richard L. Varco, Herbert E. Warden, and Morley Cohen.
