Description

Photographic scan of interior of Instructions on Needle-Work and Knitting, London: National Society for Promoting the Education of the Poor in the Principles of the Established Church, 1847. Scan of two pages: the left page features a chart of black letterpress serif type and the right page features a textile sample shaped like a stocking. Both pages are cream paper. The page number of the left page is centered at the top of the page, with the chart below titled “A Scale of Stockings and Socks.” The chart details the necessary material for making socks and stockings of various sizes, outlined and organized by thin black lines. The stocking-shaped textile sample on the left page is made of a warm white cotton, affixed to the center of the page. Book is set on a white background.
