Faint signature with name and “Nov. 19th, 1848” written by hand at very top of page. Complete title and subtitle reads, “THE NEW ENGLAND PRIMER
OR, AN EASY AND PLEASANT GUIDE TO THE ART OF READING” in all capitals with smaller type for subtitle. Below, the words “Adorned with Cuts” are printed in blackletter type, followed by “TO WHICH IS ADDED THE CATECHISM” printed in all capitals and black letterpress serif type. Three lines at the bottom of the page read, “MASSACHUSETTS SABBATH SCHOOL SOCIETY,
Depository No. 13 Cornhill, Boston
1843.” Page laid on black background with an American dime coin for size comparison.
