Dear Dr.Lillehei,
I was very interested in your article of the January issue
of Diseases of the Chest. I shall be very grateful to you, if you could
let me know the name of the firm where I can purchase the Artificial
Oxygenator. I shall also be grateful if you will let me have a reprint
of any papers of yours which describes the use of the machine in detail,
and also the paper which describes the surgical technique of intra-
cardiac surgery.
I am shortly writing a paper on Congenital Heart Disease.
I shall very much appreciate if you could let me have your results of
direct vision intra-cardiac surgery up to now.
I have had to fall back on the various shunt or Brock
operations for cyanotic children, because the various Heart & Lung
machines available are far too expensive and complicated. I feel that
your technique may solve my problems.
I do trust that you will forgive me for troubling you.
With best wishes,
Yours sincerely,
