Description
The Cardiovascular Training Program was established at the University of Minnesota with a grant by the National Institutes of Health in July of 1956. The program funded surgical fellowships for trainees to learn clinical intracardiac procedures first devised at Minnesota, as well as to support additional laboratory research to further the treatment of heart disease.
