Dear Loyce,

I forget from year to year how magnificent NUTCRACKER is. When I watch the curtain go up and the lights go on in the town and the toymaker's shop, I get teary and enchanted each time.

The production is filled with magic, with charm, with humour and tenderness. I was thrilled this year as I’ve been in the past. Thanks for giving this present to the world!

By the way, I did talk with John Hodovanic, editor of TWIN CITIES. He says he intends to assign his own staff person to write a story about you -- but doesn't want to do it until spring. I told him that I thought I was qualified to do a better job than his staffer, but that one way or another, a really good article should be commissioned.

love,
