Dear Mr. Couglin and Mr. Kieren:

Recently after reading newspaper articles and talking to people who have close ties with MDT's school and board, I have become aware of the board's decision to strip Loyce Houlton of her title and power.

I have been a long time supporter of MDT and its school, taking 2-3 classes each year for the last 4 years. Recruiting 4 other adult dance students, buying something at every bake or wear sale. Attending all fund raisers (Black Jack Ball, Crystal Ball, Sorcerers Ball, etc.) and almost all company productions.

I recently returned from Europe and was planning on registering for my usual 2 classes per quarter, and attending the upcoming Black Jack Ball. But I find, I cannot support a company or school that treats the woman they recognize as "its founder, who for 24 years has poured blood sweat and tears into this organization... and is responsible for what it has become (today)" in such an outrageous and trashy manner. I didn't choose to take classes at MDT because of the board members' or company manager's influence or knowledge of dance but because of Loyce Houlton's reputation, esthetic sense, and her creative and inspiring genius of dance.
