The letter is addressed to Mr. Malcolm M. Willey, is written by William (W.) L. Nunn and has the subject line of, "News stories which have appeared in the Minnesota Daily this school year." The text of the letter is as follows:
"In addition to the memorandum from me to you dated October 29, 1945, which discusses editorials which have appeared in the Daily thus far this school year, there is a justification for calling attention to significant news items which have appeared in the Daily, which are indicative of an attitude similar to that reflected in the editorial which have appeared.
A careful perusal of the Daily from September 28 to October 26, 1945 inclusive presents striking evidence that the Daily has elected to feature problems involving the veterans, almost to the exclusion of other University news. In eighteen issues of the Daily from September 28 to October 26 inclusive the veteran's problem has received front page news in all but four issues. Seventeen of the news stories which have appeared on veterans' problems are attached to this report. Of these seventeen, fourteen deal with housing."
The remainder of this letter includes a listing of the issue dates, along with the title of the related article and a synopsis of the articles content.
