Assistant Supervisor visiting Nurse Centre on 136th Street, Harlem
Report of the Henry Street Settlement, 1926. The women of the Visiting Nurse Service in New York City ran clinics, made home visits, and administered a large urban public health system. The nurses provided preventative and maternity care as well as treatment for illnesses and minor injuries.
