Addie Hunton, YMCA worker for American soldiers in World War I in France
Addie Hunton worked for the YWCA starting in 1907, focusing on social welfare efforts among Black communities. When World War I broke out she joined the YMCA and was one of three Black women assigned to work with segregated Black troops in France.
